Singapore Polytechnic Students’ Union and Constituent Bodies (Exemption) Order

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Singapore Polytechnic Students’ Union and Constituent Bodies (Exemption) Order.

Exemption and conditions

2.  The Singapore Polytechnic Students’ Union (referred to in this Order as the Union) and its constituent bodies specified in the Schedule are exempted from the provisions of the Societies Act (Cap. 311), subject to the following conditions:

(a) the Union or a constituent body shall furnish the Registrar of Societies with such information as he may require concerning the Union or the constituent body, and with any documents, accounts and books relating to the Union or the constituent body;

(b) the Union or a constituent body shall not use any flag, symbol, emblem, badge or insignia without the consent in writing of the Registrar of Societies; and

(c) the Union or a constituent body shall not be used for unlawful purposes or for purposes prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore or for purposes incompatible with the objects and rules of the Union or the constituent body.

(a) The Civil Engineering and Building Club;

(b) The Electrical Engineering Club;

(c) The Electronics and Communication Engineering Club;

(d) The Mechanical and Production Engineering Club;

(e) The Chemical Process Technology Club;

(f) The Marine Engineering Club;

(g) The Nautical Studies Club;

(h) The Sports Club;

(i) The Community Service and Cultural Club; and

(j) The Current Affairs and Debating Club.
