Singapore Armed Forces (Ranks of Servicemen) Regulations 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, the Armed Forces Council hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces (Ranks of Servicemen) Regulations 2010 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2010.
Ranks of servicemen
2.—(1)  Subject to this regulation, the substantive ranks of servicemen in the uniformed services of the Singapore Armed Forces shall be as set out in the Schedule.
(2)  A serviceman shall, while undergoing officer training in the Singapore Armed Forces, hold the trainee rank of officer cadet or midshipman.
(3)  A serviceman shall, while undergoing specialist training in the Singapore Armed Forces, hold the trainee rank of specialist cadet.
(4)  A serviceman shall, while undergoing senior military expert training in the Singapore Armed Forces, hold the trainee rank of military expert senior trainee.
(5)  Subject to paragraph (4), a serviceman shall, while undergoing military expert training in the Singapore Armed Forces, hold the trainee rank of military expert trainee.
(6)  A serviceman who has successfully completed his senior military expert training shall, prior to his appointment as a senior military expert, hold the temporary rank of military expert apprentice.
(7)  An officer cadet, a midshipman, a specialist cadet, a military expert senior trainee or a military expert trainee shall be equivalent in rank to a private.
(8)  A military expert apprentice shall be equivalent in rank to a military expert of the rank of ME1 (Military Expert 1).
Singapore Armed Forces Dress Instructions
3.—(1)  The following matters shall be as laid down in the Singapore Armed Forces Dress Instructions:
(a)the badges of rank, the order of dress and the occasions when the badges of rank and dress are to be worn;
(b)the specifications of the articles of uniform and accoutrements to be worn and of their standard materials;
(c)the issue of uniform and accoutrements; and
(d)the manner in which certain articles of uniform and accoutrements are to be worn.
(2)  The Singapore Armed Forces Dress Instructions may be amended from time to time by the Armed Forces Council or a committee appointed for this purpose.
Revocation
4.  The Singapore Armed Forces (Rank of Servicemen) Regulations (Rg 14) are revoked.

Ranks of servicemen in uniformed services
The ranks of servicemen in the uniformed services of the Singapore Armed Forces, in order of seniority, shall be as follows:
