| Citation and commencement |
| 1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces Tsunami Relief Operation 2004 Medal Rules 2005 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 21st March 2005. |

2. In these Rules —

| Designation of Medal |
| 3. The Medal shall be designated and styled the Singapore Armed Forces Tsunami Relief Operation 2004 Medal. |
| Award of Medal |
| Description of Medal |
5.—(1) The Medal shall be brass-based and silver in colour, and shall be a circle of 35 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness.

| Wearing of Medal |
6.—(1) The Medal shall be worn on the left side of the outer garment and shall be suspended by a ribbon 35 mm in width and 50 mm in length.

| Name to be inscribed on Medal |
| 7. The name of the person who is awarded a Medal shall be inscribed on the back of the Medal. |
| Nominations for award |
8.—(1) Every nomination for the award of a Medal shall be submitted to the Joint Services Committee of the Singapore Armed Forces.

| Publication of award |
| 9. The names of the persons to whom the Medal is awarded shall be published in Formation or Unit orders and a register of such names shall be kept in the Ministry of Defence. |
| Forfeiture of Medal |
10. The Armed Forces Council may forfeit any Medal awarded to any person under these Rules if he —

| Replacement of Medal |
| 11. If the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Defence is satisfied that a Medal has been lost or destroyed, he may replace it upon payment by the person entitled to it of a sum sufficient to cover the cost of the replacement. |
