2.—(1) In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires —“eligible person” means —| (a) | a police officer of the Singapore Police Force which is established under Part II of the Police Force Act (Cap. 235); | | (b) | a special police officer of the Special Constabulary which is constituted under Part VIII of the Police Force Act; | | (c) | a prison officer of the Singapore Prisons Department who is appointed under Part III of the Prisons Act (Cap. 247); | | (d) | an officer of the Central Narcotics Bureau who is appointed or deemed to have been appointed under section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act (Cap. 185); | | (e) | a member of the Vigilante Corps which is established by the Vigilante Corps Act (Cap. 343); and | | (f) | a person who, being liable for reserve service under the Enlistment Act (Cap. 93), is liable for reserve service in the Singapore Police Force, the Special Constabulary or the Vigilante Corps; |

| “Medal” means the Singapore Police Service Good Service Medal; |
| “Singapore Armed Forces” means the force raised and maintained in accordance with the Singapore Armed Forces Act (Cap. 295); |
| “Singapore Civil Defence Force” means the force raised and maintained in accordance with the Civil Defence Act (Cap. 42); |
“Singapore Police Service” means any of the following force, body or organisations:| (a) | Singapore Police Force; | | (b) | Singapore Prisons Department; | | (c) | Central Narcotics Bureau; | | (d) | Special Constabulary; | | (e) | Vigilante Corps. |

| (2) For the purposes of these Rules, unless the contrary intention appears, “service” means full-time service, reserve service, regular service, mobilised service or voluntary service. |
| (3) References in these Rules to a period of reserve service rendered by a person are references to the period in which such person was liable for reserve service. |
