Rapid Transit Systems Act

(Chapter 263A)

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Rapid Transit Systems Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation

1. This Notification may be cited as the Rapid Transit Systems (Creation of Rights) Notification 2008.

Powers of Authority

2. The Authority or any person authorised by the Authority may, at any reasonable time and for the purposes of and incidental to the operation of the railway, enter upon the railway areas in the lands described in the First Schedule and exercise such rights as are described in the Second Schedule in, under or over those areas of land.

Inspection of plan

3. A copy of the plan of the railway areas in the lands described in the First Schedule shall be available for inspection by the public free of charge at the office of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore at 1 Hampshire Road, Singapore 219428 on any day from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) —

(a)	between 9 a.m. and 12 noon if the day is New Year’s eve, Christmas eve or the eve of the Lunar New Year; and
(b)	between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. of any such day.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Paragraph 2

1. The uninterrupted right to pass and repass with trains along any railway tunnel constructed under the lands described in the First Schedule for the purpose of carriage of passengers by train and for all purposes necessary and incidental thereto.

2. The right of uninterrupted passage without vehicles for the purpose of access and egress to and from any railway premises constructed on, above or under the lands described in the First Schedule or any other land adjoining thereto.

3. The right at all times to subjacent and lateral support from the soil and subsoil for any facilities on, above or below the lands described in the First Schedule that are connected with the operation of the rapid transit system, including but not limited to —

(a)	ventilation shaft with fire escape staircase; and
(b)	cooling towers.

4. The right at all times to the passage or provision of air from cables, pipes, ducts and channels erected on, above or below the lands described in the First Schedule for the purpose of the operation of the rapid transit system and for all purposes necessary and incidental thereto.
