Parking Places
(Vehicle Removal, Storage
and Release Charges) Rules 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Parking Places (Vehicle Removal, Storage and Release Charges) Rules 2018 and come into operation on 8 May 2018.
Definitions
2.  In these Rules —
“HDB parking place” means a parking place that —
(a)is provided by the Authority under section 4 of the Act; and
(b)is operated by the Housing and Development Board;
“URA parking place” means a parking place that —
(a)is provided by the Authority under section 4 of the Act; and
(b)is operated by the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

Charges for vehicle removed, detained or immobilised under section 15(1) of Act from or at HDB parking place
3.  Where a vehicle found in an HDB parking place is removed, detained or immobilised under section 15(1) of the Act, the following charges must be paid for the release of the vehicle under section 15(4) of the Act:
(a)if the vehicle is removed — a removal charge of the applicable amount specified in Part 1 of the Schedule;
(b)a storage charge at the applicable rate specified in Part 1 of the Schedule for each day or part of a day during which the vehicle is detained, starting on the day the vehicle is detained;
(c)if the vehicle is immobilised —$109.

Charges for vehicle removed, detained or immobilised under section 15(1) of Act from or at URA parking place
4.  Where a vehicle found in a URA parking place is removed, detained or immobilised under section 15(1) of the Act, the following charges must be paid for the release of the vehicle under section 15(4) of the Act:
(a)if the vehicle is removed — a removal charge of the applicable amount specified in Part 2 of the Schedule;
(b)a storage charge at the applicable rate specified in Part 2 of the Schedule for each day or part of a day during which the vehicle is detained, starting at 12 noon on the day immediately after the day the vehicle is detained;
(c)if the vehicle is immobilised — $109.

Removal and storage charges for vehicle removed and detained under section 15(2) of Act
5.—(1)  Where a vehicle is removed and detained by an enforcement officer under section 15(2) of the Act, the charges that must be paid for the release of the vehicle under section 15(4) of the Act are —
(a)a removal charge at the rate specified in the second column of Part 3 of the Schedule opposite the type of vehicle concerned; and

(b)a storage charge at the rate specified in the third column of Part 3 of the Schedule for each period of 24 hours or part thereof during which the vehicle is detained.

(2)  In counting the period a vehicle is detained, the time starts immediately after the end of the day the vehicle is removed or detained, whichever last happens.
