Order 2025

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Parking Places Act 1974, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:

Citation and period in force

1.—(1)  This Order is the Parking Places (River Valley Green — Exemption) Order 2025.

(2)  This Order is in force for the period between 19 February 2025 and 26 June 2123 (both dates inclusive).

Definitions

2.  In this Order —

“approval of the competent authority” means permission granted by a competent authority to develop land, and includes authorisation by notification under section 21(6) of the Planning Act 1998;

“approved development” means a proposed development of land in relation to which approval of the competent authority is granted;

“competent authority” means any person who is appointed under section 5 of the Planning Act 1998 for the purposes of Part 3 of that Act;

“defined land” means the land comprised in Lot No. TS21‑01687M;

“parking lot” includes a type of parking lot, such as a loading bay or unloading bay.

Exemption from providing minimum number of parking lots in private parking place

3.—(1)  Subject to sub‑paragraph (2), an owner or occupier of the defined land is exempt from the requirement in section 6A(1) of the Act to provide and maintain, in any private parking place on the defined land, the minimum number of parking lots for cars prescribed in rule 4(1)(a)(i) of the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Lots) Rules 2018 (G.N. No. S 286/2018) in respect of any approved development of the defined land.

(2)  The exemption under sub‑paragraph (1) ceases to apply —

(a) in respect of any approved development mentioned in that sub‑paragraph if any building (or part of a building) within that approved development is demolished or reconstructed; or

(b) in respect of the defined land if the defined land is subdivided.
