2. The Minister exempts, from section 21(2) of the Act, any person who —| (a) | applies for registration as a professional engineer in the branch of chemical engineering no later than 6 months after 1 January 2017; and | | (b) | on the date of the application —| (i) | has a degree or qualification approved under section 21(1)(a) of the Act in respect of the branch of chemical engineering; and | | (ii) | has, after obtaining the degree or qualification mentioned in sub‑paragraph (i), acquired at least 5 years of such practical experience (whether in Singapore or elsewhere) in the branch of chemical engineering as may be acceptable to the Board. |
