Citation

1.  This Order is the Professional Engineers (Qualification for Registration as Professional Engineers) (Exemption) Order 2016.

Exemption

2.  The Minister exempts, from section 21(2) of the Act, any person who —

(a) applies for registration as a professional engineer in the branch of chemical engineering no later than 6 months after 1 January 2017; and

(b) on the date of the application —

(i) has a degree or qualification approved under section 21(1)(a) of the Act in respect of the branch of chemical engineering; and

(ii) has, after obtaining the degree or qualification mentioned in sub‑paragraph (i), acquired at least 5 years of such practical experience (whether in Singapore or elsewhere) in the branch of chemical engineering as may be acceptable to the Board.
