Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students’ Union and Constituent Bodies (Exemption) Order.

Conditional exemption of Students’ Union

2.  The Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students’ Union (referred to in this Order as the Union) and its constituent bodies specified in the Schedule are exempted from the provisions of the Societies Act [Cap. 311], subject to the following conditions:

(a) the Union or a constituent body shall furnish the Registrar of Societies with such information as he may require concerning the Union or the constituent body, and with any documents, accounts and books relating to the Union or the constituent body;

(b) the Union or a constituent body shall not use any flag, symbol, emblem, badge or insignia without the consent in writing of the Registrar of Societies; and

(c) the Union or a constituent body shall not be used for unlawful purposes or for purposes prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore or for purposes incompatible with the objects and rules of the Union or the constituent body.

(a) The Building Society.

(b) The Business Studies and Accountancy Society.

(c) The Computer Studies Society.

(d) The Cultural Activities and Social Service Club.

(e) The Electrical Engineering Society.

(f) The Electronic Engineering Society.

(g) The Literary and Debating Club.

(h) The Mechanical Engineering Society.

(i) The Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Society.

(j) The Sports Club.

(k) Such other constituent bodies as may be approved by the Council of the Polytechnic.
