The Minister for Communications has authorised —

(a) the Director of Marine and all officers in the Foreign Service who are performing consular functions abroad to extend the validity of any expired certificates; and

(b) the organisations set out in the Schedule to extend the validity of expired Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificates,

under Regulation 14(d) and (f) of Chapter I of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Regulations.

THE SCHEDULE

(i) American Bureau of Shipping;

(ii) Bureau Veritas;

(iii) Det Norske Veritas;

(iv) Germanischer Lloyd;

(v) Lloyds Register of Shipping; and

(vi) Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.
