Authorisation to Extend Expired Certificates

The Minister for Communications has authorised —
(a)the Director of Marine and all officers in the Foreign Service who are performing consular functions abroad to extend the validity of any expired certificates; and
(b)the organisations set out in the Schedule to extend the validity of expired Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificates,
under Regulation 14(d) and (f) of Chapter I of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Regulations.
THE SCHEDULE
(i)American Bureau of Shipping;
(ii)Bureau Veritas;
(iii)Det Norske Veritas;
(iv)Germanischer Lloyd;
(v)Lloyds Register of Shipping; and
(vi)Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.
