(Assignment of Function)
Notification 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(4) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Notification is the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Assignment of Function) Notification 2018 and is deemed to have come into operation on 15 November 2018.

Additional function

2.  The Minister for Transport assigns to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore the function of being the authority of Singapore responsible for —

(a) implementing the Guidelines on Voluntary Pilotage Services in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore adopted by the Tripartite Technical Experts Group of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore;

(b) certifying persons eligible under those Guidelines to provide pilotage services in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore; and

(c) exercising disciplinary control over persons certified to provide pilotage services in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore.

Cancellation

3.  The Notification relating to the Assignment of Function to Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (G.N. No. 3013/2018) is cancelled.
