(Administrative Fees) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 11E(c) and 14(7) of the Legal Profession Act 1966, the Minister for Law, after consulting the Board of Directors of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Rules are the Legal Profession (Administrative Fees) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 17 July 2024.

Administrative fee for processing of application form

2.—(1)  Each application form that contains one or more of the following applications must be accompanied by an administrative fee of $320 for the processing of the form:

(a) an application made to the Minister under section 11C of the Act;

(b) an application made to the Minister under section 14 of the Act;

(c) an application made to the Minister under rule 16(1) or (2) of the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules (R 15).

(2)  The Minister may, if the Minister considers it appropriate and subject to conditions that the Minister may think fit, waive, refund or remit the whole or part of the administrative fee mentioned in paragraph (1).

Revocation

3.  Revoke the Legal Profession (Administrative Fees) Rules 2014 (G.N. No. S 289/2014).
