Media Development Authority of Singapore (Regulated Persons) Notification 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16(3) of the Media Development Authority of Singapore Act 2002, Mr David Lim Tik En, Senior Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Notification may be cited as the Media Development Authority of Singapore (Regulated Persons) Notification 2003 and shall come into operation on 15th April 2003.

Regulated persons

2.  The persons specified in the first column of the Schedule are specified to be regulated persons for the purposes of the provisions specified in the second column thereof.

(2) Singapore Press Holdings Limited, being the proprietor of the following general circulation newspapers:		Section 16(3)(a)(i) of the Act
(a) Berita Harian
(b) Berita Minggu
(c) Lianhe Zaobao
(d) Lianhe Wanbao
(e) ZB Sunday
(f) Shin Min Daily News
(g) My Paper — My Life, My Thoughts, My Say
(h) Friday Weekly
(i) Thumbs Up
(j) The Straits Times
(k) The Sunday Times
(l) The Business Times
(m) The New Paper
(n) The New Paper on Sunday
(2A) Tamil Murasu Limited, being the proprietor of the general circulation newspaper “Tamil Murasu”		Section 16(3)(a)(i) of the Act.
(3) Any person who holds a broadcasting licence granted under the Broadcasting Act (Cap. 297), whether before, on or after 1st January 2003, to provide any of the following licensable broadcasting services:		Section 16(3)(a)(ii) of the Act
(a) free-to-air nationwide television services
(b) free-to-air localised television services
(c) subscription nationwide television services
(d) subscription localised television services
(e) special interest television services
(f) free-to-air nationwide radio services
(g) free-to-air localised radio services
(h) subscription nationwide radio services
(i) subscription localised radio services
(j) special interest radio services
(k) video-on-demand services
(4) MediaCorp Press Ltd		Section 16(3)(b) of the Act
(5) Singapore Press Holdings Limited		Section 16(3)(b) of the Act.
