(Communicable Diseases Agency —
Exemption) Order 2026
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 53 of the Healthcare Services Act 2020, the Minister for Health makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Healthcare Services (Communicable Diseases Agency — Exemption) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 19 March 2026.
Exemption
2.—(1)  The Communicable Diseases Agency (called in this sub‑paragraph the licensee) is exempt from section 29(2A) of the Act in relation to the use of the following names for the provision of a clinical laboratory service:
(a)the use of “Communicable Diseases Agency” as the licensee’s name;
(b)the use of “National Public Health Laboratory” as the licensee’s business name,
for so long as the licensee continues to use those names.
(2)  In sub‑paragraph (1), “Communicable Diseases Agency” means the Communicable Diseases Agency established by section 3 of the Communicable Diseases Agency Act 2025.
