Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Housing and Development (Jurong Town Corporation) Order.

Jurong Town Corporation may purchase HDB flat

2.  The Jurong Town Corporation, a body corporate established under the Jurong Town Corporation Act (Cap. 150), shall be entitled to purchase, whether directly from the Board or from another person with the written consent of the Board, any flat, house or other living accommodation sold subject to the provisions of Part IV of the Act.

Modifications to Part IV of the Act

3.  The provisions of Part IV of the Act shall apply in relation to the Jurong Town Corporation with such modifications set out in the Schedule.

THE SCHEDULE

Paragraph 3

1.—(1)  Sections 47, 48, 48B, 49, 52 and 56(1)(j) and (l) of the Act shall not apply to the Jurong Town Corporation in respect of any flat, house or other living accommodation referred to in paragraph 2 of the Order.

(2)  For the avoidance of doubt, the exemptions in sub-paragraph (1) shall not extend to any assignee or purchaser of any such flat, house or other living accommodation from the Jurong Town Corporation.

2.  Any reference in Part IV of the Act to an authorised occupier shall include a reference —

(a) to any individual, firm or company to whom the Jurong Town Corporation has underlet such a flat, house or other living accommodation with the consent of the Board; and

(b) where the Jurong Town Corporation has, with the consent of the Board, underlet the flat, house or other living accommodation to a firm or company for the purpose of housing the employees of the firm or company who are not Singapore citizens, to those employees of the firm or company.
