(School Uniformed Corps — Exemption)
Order 2025
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 87(3) of the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control (School Uniformed Corps — Exemption) Order 2025 and comes into operation on 1 July 2025.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“National Cadet Corps” means the National Cadet Corps established under the National Cadet Corps Act 1972;
“National Police Cadet Corps” means the corps established under section 3(a) of the Home Team Corps Act 2017;
“NCC member” means an officer of, or a cadet in, the National Cadet Corps, and includes an individual undergoing an NCC officer cadet course;
“NCC officer” means an individual appointed as such under section 9 of the National Cadet Corps Act 1972;
“NPCC member” means an individual enrolled under section 9 of the Home Team Corps Act 2017 in the National Police Cadet Corps, and includes an individual undergoing an NPCC officer cadet course;
“NPCC officer” means an individual appointed as —
(a)an officer of the National Police Cadet Corps under section 7(1)(a) of the Home Team Corps Act 2017;
(b)an honorary officer of the National Police Cadet Corps under section 7(2)(a) of the Home Team Corps Act 2017; or
(c)an honorary instructor of the National Police Cadet Corps under section 7(3) of the Home Team Corps Act 2017;
“responsible military officer”, in relation to the National Cadet Corps, means a member of the Singapore Armed Forces seconded for full‑time or part‑time service in the National Cadet Corps under section 10 of the National Cadet Corps Act 1972;
“responsible police officer”, in relation to the National Police Cadet Corps, means a member of the Singapore Police Force seconded for full‑time or part‑time service in the National Police Cadet Corps under section 8(1) of the Home Team Corps Act 2017.
Licence not needed for NPCC member
3.—(1)  An NPCC member is exempt from the requirement in sections 11, 21 and 22 of the Act to be authorised by a licence for having in his or her possession or for using a gun or any ammunition for that gun, when engaging in any activity —
(a)as an NPCC cadet; and
(b)under the direct supervision and in accordance with the directions of —
(i)an NPCC officer; and
(ii)a responsible police officer.
(2)  An NPCC officer is exempt from the requirement in sections 11, 21 and 22 of the Act to be authorised by a licence for having in his or her possession or for using a gun or any ammunition for that gun, when engaging in any activity, or in the course of discharging his or her duties —
(a)as an NPCC officer; and
(b)under the direct supervision and in accordance with the directions of a responsible police officer.
Licence not needed for NCC member
4.—(1)  An NCC member is exempt from the requirement in sections 11, 21 and 22 of the Act to be authorised by a licence for having in his or her possession or for using a gun or any ammunition for that gun, when engaging in any activity —
(a)as an NCC cadet; and
(b)under the direct supervision and in accordance with the directions of —
(i)an NCC officer; and
(ii)a responsible military officer.
(2)  An NCC officer is exempt from the requirement in sections 11, 21 and 22 of the Act to be authorised by a licence for having in his or her possession or for using a gun or any ammunition for that gun, when engaging in any activity, or in the course of discharging his or her duties —
(a)as an NCC officer; and
(b)under the direct supervision and in accordance with the directions of a responsible military officer.
