(Young Person’s Employment —
Exemption) Order 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 128 of the Gambling Control Act 2022, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order is the Gambling Control (Young Person’s Employment — Exemption) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 1 August 2022.

Class licensee

2.  A class licensee authorised under a class licence to provide a gambling service is exempt from section 35(1) of the Act with respect to the class licensee employing in Singapore an individual who is below 21 years of age to conduct, in or from Singapore, in accordance with arrangements made by the class licensee, any of the following:

(a) a betting operation of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence;

(b) gaming of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence;

(c) a lottery of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence.

Gambling service agent of class licensee

3.  A gambling service agent of a class licensee authorised under a class licence to provide a gambling service is exempt from section 35(1) of the Act with respect to the gambling service agent employing in Singapore an individual who is below 21 years of age to conduct, in or from Singapore, in accordance with arrangements made by the gambling service agent on behalf of the class licensee, or in accordance with arrangements made by the class licensee, any of the following:

(a) a betting operation of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence;

(b) gaming of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence;

(c) a lottery of a kind, and in connection with the gambling service, that is authorised by the class licence.
