2. In these Regulations —“electric vehicle” means a vehicle that is —| (a) | propelled wholly or partly by electricity (whether or not designed or adapted to be capable, in at least some circumstances or situations, of safely driving itself); and | | (b) | equipped with an electric rechargeable energy storage system which can be recharged externally, |
| and includes electric cars, electric buses and high‑powered electric motorcycles; |

| “fixed electric vehicle charger” means any equipment that is an electrical installation for charging electric vehicles; |
“fixed electric vehicle charger with detachable cables” means any fixed electric vehicle charger with Mode 3 (Case B) specifications, and includes —| (a) | its associated control boxes and devices; and | | (b) | its associated detachable cables; |

“high‑powered fixed electric vehicle charger” means any fixed electric vehicle charger —| (a) | with Mode 4 specifications; | | (b) | with a power rating of more than 200 kW; and | | (c) | that is powered by low voltage Direct Current (DC) not exceeding 1500V d.c. between conductors or 900V d.c. between each conductor and Earth, |
| (d) | its associated control boxes and devices; and | | (e) | its permanently-connected charging cable; |

| “LTA” means the Land Transport Authority of Singapore established under the Land Transport Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 158A); |
| “pantograph fixed charger” means any fixed electric vehicle charger with extendable pantographs and includes its associated control boxes and devices; |
| “sandbox trial” means a trial conducted by the LTA under a set of terms and conditions issued by the LTA to an owner, a manufacturer or an operator of any fixed electric vehicle charger specified in the Schedule, to test the suitability and safety of that fixed electric vehicle charger for general use. |
