Electricity (Taser Power Pte. Ltd. —
Exemption from Section 6(1))
Order 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the Electricity Act 2001, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order is the Electricity (Taser Power Pte. Ltd. — Exemption from Section 6(1)) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 1 June 2022.

Exemption

2.—(1)  Section 6(1)(b) of the Act does not apply to Taser Power Pte. Ltd. (called in this paragraph TPP) in respect of its transmission of electricity under the following conditions:

(a) the electricity is generated by TPP’s generating unit in Lot 5160V in Mukim No. 7 at 92 Tuas South Avenue 3, Singapore 637368;

(b) the electricity is transmitted to and consumed by the cooling water pumps 1 and 2 on the premises of the Public Utilities Board in Lot 5159T in Mukim No. 7 at 92 Tuas South Avenue 3, Singapore 637368;

(c) the cooling water pumps 1 and 2 convey sea water to TPP’s generating unit mentioned in sub‑paragraph (a) for the purpose of cooling the generating unit;

(d) TPP is a generation licensee;

(e) TPP complies with any direction given by the Authority under section 17 of the Act in respect of the transmission of electricity.

(2)  In this paragraph, “Public Utilities Board” means the Public Utilities Board continued under section 3 of the Public Utilities Act 2001.
