2.—(1) For the purpose of section 17A(1)(b) of the Act, a foreign State’s request for a Minister’s certificate to be issued must —| (a) | be made by a diplomatic agent of the foreign State or a consular officer of the foreign State; | | (b) | be sent —| (i) | by hand to the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1 Sherwood Road, Tanglin, Singapore 248163; or | | (ii) | by email to [email protected]; and |
| | (c) | include the information mentioned in paragraph (2). |
(2) The foreign State’s request must include — | (a) | the deceased’s name, nationality and passport number or foreign identification number; | | (b) | the name, designation and contact details of the diplomatic agent or consular officer making the request; | | (c) | a statement of —| (i) | which provision of section 17A(1)(a) of the Act the foreign State considers is applicable in respect of the deceased; and | | (ii) | the reasons for requesting the release of the deceased’s body; and |
| | (d) | any supporting document for the statement mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c). |
