Pursuant to section 17(5) of the Currency Act, it is hereby notified for general information that the denominations and characteristics of the coins to be issued on 29th October 1996 by the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Singapore, are as shown in the Schedule hereto.

5 Dollars	75% Copper 25% Nickel	20.00 g ± 0.40 g	38.70 mm ± 0.125 mm	2.45 mm ± 0.152 mm	Round	Milled and bearing the words “BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CURRENCY, SINGAPORE” and lion symbol.	The Singapore Arms in the centre with the year-date “1996” below it and the word “SINGAPORE” in the 4 official languages around the circumference of the coin.	Stylised version of a lion head with the 6 arcs of the World Trade Organization Inaugural Ministerial Conference logo below it and the denomination “$5” above the logo. The dates of the conference “9-13 December 1996” appear on the left of the logo. The inscription “WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION FIRST MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE” is around the circumference of the coin.
