Pursuant to section 17(5) of the Currency Act, it is hereby notified for general information that the denominations and characteristics of the coins to be issued on 3rd September 1996 by the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Singapore, are as shown in the Schedule hereto.

Stylised version of a lion’s head with the denomination of the coin below it and a privy mark of a rat design to the left of the denomination. The troy weight and fineness of the coin appear on the right side of the coin. The special privy mark with the latent image is found only on the proof 1 troy oz coin. The proof ½ troy oz coin bears a serial number.
