Pursuant to section 17(5) of the Currency Act, it is hereby notified for general information that the denomination and characteristics of the currency note to be issued on 4th May 2004 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore are as shown in the Schedule.

The front design features the portrait of Singapore’s first President, the late Encik Yusof bin Ishak. The word “SINGAPORE” is printed on the bottom centre portion. There are 2 see-through windows – one on the upper left-hand corner and the other at the bottom right-hand corner. The complex clear window on the upper left-hand corner has a multi-tonal Singapore Arms and hidden images of the word “MAS”. The clear window at the bottom right-hand corner is embossed with the numeral “10” in its centre, with the repetitive pattern of the numeral “10” at the top and bottom of the window. The shadow image of the President’s portrait is on the left-hand side of the note. The denomination numeral “10” is located at the upper middle portion. The Singapore Lion symbol in gold patch with the words “TEN DOLLARS” and the image of the Singapore Arms is located above the words “THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER”. The signature and seal of Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Chairman, Monetary Authority of Singapore, are below the words “TEN DOLLARS”. The security thread in the shape of Singapore island is at the lower centre of the note. The Singapore Lion symbol is located at the left-hand side of the word ’SINGAPORE’. One set of the asymmetrical serial number appears horizontal on the left-hand side while the other set appears vertical on the right-hand side. The Braille pattern is at the top right-hand corner.
The back design features a jogger, a tennis player and a soccer player on one side, representing land sports, and swimming and sailing on the other side, representing water sports. The word “SINGAPORE” is located at the top centre portion of the note. The Singapore Lion symbol, at the lower left of the shadow image of the President’s portrait, is in perfect registration with that on the front. The denomination numeral “10” is located at the top left-hand corner and to the left of the Singapore Lion symbol. The word “SPORTS” is located at the bottom left-hand corner of the note. The 2 see through windows located at the front of the note can also be seen from the back.
