Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Building Control (Exempt Building Works) Order.

Exempt building works

2.  Section 5(1)(b) and (2)(b) of the Act shall not apply to the building works specified in the Schedule.

THE SCHEDULE

1.  Building works for or in connection with —

(a) detached substations, detached bin centres, detached guard houses, single storey enclosures, sheds, huts and the like;

(b) box culverts or canal crossings with spaces not exceeding 5 metres; or

(c) retaining walls not exceeding a height of 4 metres forming part of other building works.

2.  Installation, extension or alteration of any air-conditioning or mechanical ventilation system.

3.  Installation, extension or alteration of any fire protection system.
