| Citation |
| 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Wreck and Salvage of Aircraft) Regulations. |
| Application of Part IX of Merchant Shipping Act |
| 2. The provisions of Part IX of the Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 179) as from time to time amended, adapted and modified as set out in the Schedule, shall apply in relation to aircraft as those provisions apply to ships. |
| Jurisdiction of Courts |
| 3. The Courts having jurisdiction under Part IX of the Merchant Shipping Act shall have their respective jurisdictions over claims under section 11 of the Air Navigation Act, and under these Regulations. |
| THE SCHEDULE |
| Regulation 2 |
| (a) | “Ship” shall include aircraft. |
| (b) | “Wreck” shall include any aircraft or any part thereof or cargo thereof found derelict in or upon the waters of Singapore or the tidal waters thereof or any ports or harbours thereof upon or near the shores of Singapore or found or taken possession of outside the waters of Singapore and subsequently brought within Singapore or the waters thereof. |
| (c) | “Master” shall include the commander or other person in charge of an aircraft. |
| (d) | “Shipwrecked” shall include aircraft wrecked. |
| (e) | Section 152 of the Act shall not apply in the case of aircraft. |
| (f) | In its application to aircraft section 169 of the Act shall have effect as though for the word “maritime” there were substituted the word “aeronautical”. [G.N. No. 2220/39] |
